Villa Sa Boleda: This is how resort chic is done
Welcome to Villa Sa Boleda!
An architectural gem built in 1925, nestled in the heart of Santa Margalida, Mallorca. This listed property unites historical elegance with modern living: neoclassical and baroque details blend effortlessly with Mediterranean lightness, Parisian sophistication, and 20th-century influences.
The transformation is the work of Stefan Relic and Paulo Valcic, founders of Rôck&Villa, a design duo dedicated to breathing new life into historic architecture. At Sa Boleda, they show how tradition and innovation can merge into a timeless living concept. With their exclusive design tips, you can bring the look home, too.
"For us, the first question is always: What needs to stay? At Sa Boleda, we preserved key elements such as natural stone walls, wooden beam ceilings, and traditional windows – they carry the soul of the house. These details are the anchors of the entire design concept. Tip: Whenever possible, keep features that provide structure or character. They create an authenticity that cannot be replicated."
"To prevent the space from feeling like a museum, we deliberately introduce striking, eclectic pieces that contrast with the historic shell. Clean-lined furniture in walnut or black metal, sculptural lighting, and unexpected works of art add depth and personality." With its tubular frame and interchangeable seat, the DESERT lounge chair embodies this philosophy – a bold statement piece indoors or out.
"Our materials and colours are rooted in Mediterranean simplicity: off-white, lime plaster, terracotta, natural wood, and linen. This creates a calm base that feels timeless and warm. Tip: stick to neutral, sun-bleached tones and natural materials. Colour or texture can then be added sparingly as accents." Perfect match: the GARY bouclé upholstered bed
